ABOUT ME
Carla R. Holloway knows very well what it means to deal with loss. Having lost her son Darian to cancer when he was 16 years old, she dealt with depression and anxiety, which nearly took over her life. However, she learned how to channel those feelings of loss through journaling.

In 2012, Carla gathered all her journals and published A Dae in My Life: A Mother's Love, A Son's Sacrifice, as a way to cope with the loss of her son and encourage mothers who have lost a child due to illness. "I felt what I experience with my son would help and inspire others who have gone through what I've gone through," Holloway said, " My motto is 'what you go through in this life is not necessarily for you, but for someone else."
Since she published A Dae in My Life, she has become an advocate for families affected by cancer. She has spoken at several events throughout Southern California, including the Children's Miracle Network, and organized a toy drive and a birthday party for the pediatric cancer patients in honor of Darian's 18th birthday at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Holloway is a graduate of the Santa Barbara Business College. She has worked as a Para Educator for the Antelope Valley Union High School District, and as a clerk at Sylmar Juvenile Detention Center. She is currently working on her second book.
